  • What is a concrete pump?

A concrete pump is a machine used for distributing liquid concrete. More accurate and efficient than traditional concreting, the method of concrete pumping is more efficient, has lower labour costs and can pour a larger volume of the mix in the same amount of time.

  • How does a concrete pump work?

The concrete truck releases concrete from the mixer, into the hopper on the back of the pump truck. The hopper has a filter and an auger to churn the concrete, preventing it from drying out. The concrete from the hopper is pushed through a pipe on the pump truck boom so it can then be distributed.

  • Do I need concrete pump if my property is difficult to access?

If the site is steep, very large, difficult to access or the landscape is very rocky and rugged, you will need concrete to be pumped, rather than laid in the traditional way. This is to ensure the quality of the end result, to keep the labour costs down and to pour the volume required in the shortest time frame possible.

  • What is concrete spraying?

Concrete spraying is the method of spraying concrete into place rather than laying or pumping the concrete. This method is the ideal solution for swimming pools, vertical walls, curved structures, ceilings and tunnel linings.

  • How far can a concrete hose reach?

A ground line pump can reach as far as 150 metres, with extensions available if you need to reach further than that. Boom pumps can extend up to 72 metres, with possible extensions available if necessary.
